Dior is filling up bookshelves the world over with its stories of fashion and photography. Now Jérôme Gautier together with Thames & Hudson has created a coffee table celebration that begins in 1947 — the year the New Look was born and Christian Dior posed for Irving Penn. It was also the first time Richard Avedon starting framing Dior's fashion with his photography. This then, is a retrospect of their works along with some of the world's leading photographers to date. Think Helmut Newton, Cecil Beaton, Gilles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Nick Knight, Annie Leibovitz, Irving Penn, Terry Richardson, Mario Testino and so many more.

Jérôme Gautier, details, as a journalist and specialist in fashion photography would, the images of the Maison and 30 Avenue Montaigne, together with behind the scenes snaps of the couture ateliers before moving on to imagery captured of his successors: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simons. Rare and refined Dior's revolutionary silhouettes make for a moving picture book.

In Dior: New Looks is launching on October 19, 2015.
