Taschen has just released a new book that details the inspiration and massive preparation for the upcoming Floating Piers installation. Designed by artistic duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the installation will see a custom-built path on the surface of Lake Iseo, created from tens of thousands of polyethylene cubes wrapped in a bright yellow fabric, that will connect pedestrians from the Italian town of Sulzano, to the islands of Monte Isola and San Paolo.

The book features designs, sketches, models, photographs and even the paperwork of site approvals. All of which document the long and ardous task undertaken by the pair to create the unique art installation, which will take place on June 18 until July 3. Take a peek inside the book here...
