New artists and artworks at Emergeast
Discover the must-know names in regional art as UAE-based online art gallery Emergeast adds to its esteemed list of artists. The new group includes Abdullah Al Otaibi, a Kuwaiti artist who has exhibited from the UAE to the UK, Spain and Italy, showcasing his signature monochromatic painting style of human figures with light brush strokes and a slight pop of colour.
Land by Ali Phi at Mohsen Gallery
Utilising digital and audiovidual mediums, Iranian artist Ali Phi presents must-see installations that share how his different versions of land, including architecture, gardens, carpets and patterns, helped to shape and create his own interpretation of utopia.
Land runs from August 11 at Mohsen Gallery.
Saturday art tour with Al Serkal Avenue
This week, Alserkal Programing is heading to Sharjah for two exhibitions: Collectivity — Objects and Associations in the UAE Art World on show at Maraya Art Centre and Beloved Bodies II at Barjeel Art Foundation. While the former gathers artworks from private collections, the latter explores the human body, representing it in both literal and metaphorical concepts.
