Dubai art space Ayyam Gallery is hosting a new solo exhibition by Lebanese artist Lara Zankoul titled As Cold as a White Stone. The show, which explores 'the coldness, resistance, and numbness of human relationships nowadays', was inspired by the works of Italian artist Matteo Basiles, specifically his use of marble quarries. With white marble as a backdrop – utilising both its cold colour, lines and texture – Zankoul creates a dystopian society where her anonymous subjects portray individualistic traits and highlight the stark absence of traditional characteristics of interaction between people.

As Cold as a White Stone will run from September 20 until November 17 at Ayyam Gallery Dubai (DIFC). Also, discover the new art exhibition Visceral Silence
