CoverGirl is the largest beauty brand to go cruelty-free
Leaping Bunny certified
Increasingly, the beauty industry is gaining more and more cruelty-free brands and it seems inevitable (and entirely necessary) that all brands will soon follow suit, not least because of consumer demand.
In huge news overnight, beauty giant CoverGirl announced that is now certified as cruelty-free, making it the largest beauty brand to hold the certification.
Coty, the company that owns the beauty brand, partnered up with Cruelty-Free International to move one step closer towards ending animal testing for cosmetics around the globe.
According to Allure, the brand released a statement that said: “Cruelty-Free International is proud to present CoverGirl with the Leaping Bunny certification — the internationally recognised gold standard for cruelty-free designation. No other certification program has the rigour that seeks to completely eliminate animal testing from a brand’s supply chain — it certifies that no CoverGirl products or ingredients are tested on animals, either by CoverGirl or its suppliers."
This means, moving forward, any CoverGirl products you get your hands on will not only be good for you, but good for the environment. All products will now also have a new Leaping Bunny logo to let you know that the products are officially cruelty-free.
