Cartier has launched a brand new fragrance. Here's what you need to know...

Mathilde Laurent, Cartier's much-esteemed in-house perfumer, has just created a brand new scent to join the brand's Les Heures Voyageuses high perfumery collection. And it's inspired by the Middle East, no less.

The fragrance is called Oud & Menthe and, according to a release, "prolongs the enchantment with a daring, devastating combination of oud wood and mint."

By combining the seemingly opposite ingredients, the fragrance "softens the raw sensations of the mint and the oud, a sugary and suave infusion with a breath of plant-like freshness from the mint."

The captivating scent is now available Cartier stores across the Middle East and retails for Dhs1,450. And in the lead-up to Ramadan, this could well be the perfect gift for your loved ones (or yourself), no?

Now, read our interview with Guerlain perfumer Thierry Wasser on the brand's newest fragrance and how the Middle East serves as inspiration for his creations.
