Glossier has expanded its shade range and it’s kind of a big deal

One word: inclusivity
The latest drop from US cult brand Glossier isn't something to take lightly. The brand's expanded shade range across all of their complexion products is a pretty big deal...

Mention the word Glossier to the beauty-obsessed and it’ll probably elicit a not-so-subtle squeal. The US cult brand is known to really deliver the best and most intuitive beauty essentials we didn’t know we needed in the first place. And with every new drop, the brand breaks the internet.

Last year we were all over the brand’s first mascara and now, in probably the biggest news from the brand yet, every one of their complexion products has an expanded range of shades. Can we get a hal-le-lu-jah?

This is how it went down…

So they announced that 12 adaptable shades are now available for their Perfecting Skin Tint and Stretch Concealer products, which they’ve shown (and we’ve got below) with models of every skin tone. Oh and there are now 5 shades of Wowder (previously 3).

You can tell the brand is jumping on the diversity bandwagon, which to be honest, is totally something we expect from them.

Kym Davis, head of product development for Glossier said, “While the sheer coverage of our formulas makes them more flexible than traditional complexion products, we knew that there were gaps that needed to be filled. After over a year and half of research, testing, and development, we’re excited to offer our customers a more balanced and comprehensive selection of shades designed to stretch across a wide range of skin tones.”

And to be super sure they were getting the right market research, the brand shade-matched its customers at their stores.

Looks like a lot of thoughtful work went into these products. We’d love more of this kind of news in 2019, please.
